Karaban Picks UConn
One of the top players in New England's class of 2022 is staying home to play for UConn.
Alex Karaban, who graduated from New Hampton School last spring and has spent his entire grassroots career with Expressions Elite, pledged to the Huskies last night on SportsCenter.
He will spend a post-graduate year at IMG Academy in Florida before arriving in Storrs for the 2022-23 academic year.
Karaban has a long and decorated career of achievement. He led New Hampton to a NEPSAC title in 2019, winning MVP honors in his first year in the league. While he missed this past season due to the pandemic, he put up big numbers at the Peach Jam and solidified his place as one of the most productive and efficient forwards in the country.
He joins Donovan Clingan to give UConn the top two New England natives in the class of 2022 and three total ESPN 100 products in the class.
