Junior Elite 75 Showcase Event Recap

The future is bright in New England.

That much was perfectly clear at the second annual New England Junior Elite 75 Showcase at Boston University’s Case Gymnasium on Saturday.

Many of New England’s top young players came together for a day that provided them with advanced skill instruction, information about what to expect from the recruiting process at the next level, and some early exposure to the New England Recruiting Report.

The day began with a presentation from Hoop Mountain Founder and Director Steve Gibbs, who talked to the players about many of the lessons he has learned in his 25 years directing Hoop Mountain Basketball Camps and helping student-athletes reach the next level.

Next up was an intense set of skill development training as players received instruction in one on one play off the catch and the dribble, transition and motion concepts, drive and kick action, and the dribble hand-off series.

Then each player got the opportunity to show his stuff as players were divided into teams for controlled game play. Finally, the day ended with two separate all-star games, honoring top participants in both the eighth grade as well as the sixth and seventh.
