Isaac Nyakundi Commits to Le Moyne
Yesterday, MacDuffie/NY Jayhawks 2024 6’9” big Isaac Nyakundi announced his commitment to Le Moyne to compete in the Northeast Conference at the Division I level. The decision came despite also receiving offers from Northern Illinois, Detroit Mercy, and The Citadel.
“I’m so excited to be joining the LeMoyne basketball program,” said Nyakundi in speaking with NERR. “I’m so grateful to be given this opportunity by Coach Champion and the rest of the coaching staff at LeMoyne.”

Nyakundi jumped onto our radar the summer before the 2022-23 season when he announced that he would be transferring to The MacDuffie School from Duluth East High School (MN), where he averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds.
He was already a standout in his first year of New England prep basketball, earning All-NEPSAC Class-AA Honorable Mention for his performance throughout the 2022-23 season, tallying 20 double-doubles against tough competition.
Nyakundi continued his success this past spring/summer with the NY Jayhawks, earning numerous standout recognitions. He also impressed at the NEPSAC Showcase, dropping 22 in a win over Worcester.
Nyakundi has played one of the biggest roles on an already talented MacDuffie squad so far this year, averaging a double-double and dropping 26 in another tough battle with Worcester. Just recently, he received his offer from Le Moyne, which he accepted soon after.
“I want to thank all my friends, family, and coaches who helped me along the way,” he continued. “I want to give a big thanks to Coach Boswell and Coach Kurt for helping me with recruiting, as well as for training me and taking my game to the next level at MacDuffie.”
It will be exciting to track Isaac Nyakundi as he continues his basketball career at the Division I level with the Le Moyne Dolphins…
