Introducing Rashad McCormick

Over the course of the next few weeks, the New England Recruiting Report will be profiling some of the most notable prospects set to arrive in the region this fall as part of the incoming prep school class.

One of the biggest new names in New England is that of 6’7” 2024 wing Rashad McCormick

McCormick will be transferring to Phillips Andover Academy out of Hough High School outside of Charlotte, NC, where he earned the Male Athlete of the Year Award after averaging 16.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, also adding a block and a steal.

Hough was ranked 59th in the state of North Carolina by the end of the season, and McCormick was selected to compete in the Queen City All-Star Game for his performance throughout the year.

On May 3rd, McCormick announced his intent to transfer to Andover for the 2023-24 year.

He made his impact felt in New England from the moment he stepped onto the court. At the first NEPSAC showcase, scouts and coaches came away very impressed with the wing, as he was the clear best player on the court.

Following the two showcases, McCormick picked up offers from the likes of Vermont, Maine, and Chicago State. He has also received an NAIA and a D2 offer.

However, he is only just getting started.

“I’m excited to go to Andover,” said McCormick in speaking with NERR. “I know I’m going to wake up a lot of people sleeping on me…”
