Omari Salvi 2021

We've already introduced you to Aidan Horan, but he isn't the only division I prospect headed to Avon Old Farms for a post-graduate year in 2020-21.

Omari Salvi is a 6-foot-5 wing who just graduated from the Bullis School in Maryland. He already has interest from the likes of CCSU, VMI, Mount St. Mary's, Georgia State, and Texas A&M CC among others, and is coming to play for Matt Mihalich to prove he belongs at that D1 level.

Don't expect that to stop the high academic schools from continuing to pursue him though, as Salvi is also a very successful student in the classroom.

He and Horan will join a returning core that includes Tyler Warner, Anthony Clayton, Kenneth Soares, and Jared Flaks among others as AOF should be one of the most improved teams in Class A of the NEPSAC.

Prospect Profile

Height: 6'5"

Scouting Report

Salvi has very good positional size at the wing along with all the requisiite physical tools to play at the D1 level. He's long and well-built, he finishes above the rim with ease, and also utilizes his physical gifts on the defensive end of the floor. While he played primary around the rim throughout his high school career, he has clear tools and potential on the perimeter as well and should really be able to develop those areas of his game within the next twelve years.

He has a very fluid shooting stroke when in rhythm and the potential to evolve as a shot-maker. He's also dangerous in the open floor, not just as a play finisher, but also as a playmaker who can go north to south with the ball. Defensively, he's proven he can block some shots and is willing to take charges inside, but has all the lateral quickness and agility necessary to defend multiple positions.
