Introducing Andre Fredericks

Typically when new talent comes to the region it's to join the prep ranks, but this season the CIAC has a major addition of their own in Robert Morris bound big man Andre Fredericks.

Fredericks made his unofficial New England debut last weekend, starring with his new teammates at Hand High School in Madison, Connecticut as they took part in the annual BasketBull Columbus Day Challenge.

The six-foot-eight big man comes to Hand by way of Douglas High School in Detroit, where he averaged 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game last year as a junior while also solidifying himself as one of the premier interior defenders in the state of Michigan.

Fredericks committed to Robert Morris just prior to last summer's July evaluation period.  Shortly afterward he learned that his family would be relocating to Connecticut.

His presence is expected to make immediate ripples in the landscape of both the SCC and the CIAC as there simply aren't very many big men in the state capable of matching his physical tools.
