Hutchins-Everett Makes Decision

Putnam Science big man Elijah Hutchins-Everett announced a verbal commitment to Austin Peay on Tuesday.

Former Duke associate head coach Nate James was named the new head coach at APSU earlier this month.

The 6-foot-11 Hutchins-Everett came up the ranks as a highly decorated young prospect, competing in both the EYBL with the New Jersey Playaz and the UAA with We-R1.

He previously announced his commitment to Penn State in August only to decommit following the coaching change in November.

“Elijah has a lot of skill,” Mustangs coach Tom Espinosa said at the time. “He’s so hard to defend in the post because he’s got such size and strength, but you don’t mind if he’s floating on the perimeter a little bit because you know he can shoot it too."

Consistency has always been the key for Hutchins-Everett but there's no denying that his size and talent levels are absolute steals in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Hutchins-Everett is the 11th member of Putnam Science's 2021 class to commit to a division I school.
