Hunt is a Charger
St. Andrew’s senior guard Tom Hunt made a verbal commitment to the University of New Haven on Monday night, announcing his decision via twitter.

Hunt joins Capital Prep’s Levy Gillespie Jr. and Michael Bourke, a six-foot-three guard from the Hun School and the New Heights AAU program, to become the third player to commit to head coach Ted Hotaling in the last ten days.
Together, the trio will form the Chargers’ backcourt of the future with Gillespie and Bourke both providing big ball-handling guards while Bourke and Hunt are also both known for their ability to shoot the ball from long-range.
“Tom was always a great shooter,” St. Andrew’s head coach Michael Hart said, “but in the last two years he’s developed other parts of his game to become a complete player who is ready for college.”
While Hunt has improved his total floor game, the fact that he’s able to make shots not only spotting up, both also coming off screens, makes him uniquely qualified to step right in and contribute offensively as a freshmen.
“He’s going to a division I type program in New Haven,” Hart said. “I’m very proud and very excited for Tom and his family.”
New Haven is coming off a run to the NE-10 championship game and their second consecutive NCAA tournament.
Hunt becomes the sixth member of this year’s St. Andrew’s team to earn a full athletic scholarship and the 9th to continue his playing career at the college level joining Bonzie Colson (Notre Dame), Henry Bolton (Henry Bolton), Malcolm Smith (Philadelphia U), Jordan DeCicco (Philadelphia U), Joe Carty (Goldey Beacon), Edson Casey (Johnson and Wales), John Geary (Emerson), and Aaron Brown (Emmanuel).
