Hunger Makes the Call
Northfield Mount Hermon and BABC senior big man Luke Hunger announced a verbal commitment to Northwestern University on Tuesday, where he'll join his NMH teammate Rowan Brumbaugh in their recruiting class.
Hunger is a Canadian native currently in his third season at NMH.
He arrived to high expectations but didn't have much of an impact as a sophomore. During the pandemic though, he improved as much as any player in the prep ranks, not only completely changing his body but also diversifying his game.
"Luke Hunger is entirely committed to improvement on and off the court," said NMH head coach John Carroll. "He has created a new body, game, and leadership skills over the past 18 months. Northwestern was able to watch that development while recruiting Rowan. Luke is as college-ready a player as we've had at NMH. His combinaton of skills and physical play are a perfect match for the Wildcats and the Big Ten."
Hunger has always had a good combination of size and skill, with the ability to stretch the floor, but now he plays with power, a high motor, and a ton of sheer force in his game. He's a versatile scoring threat, high volume rebounder, and a constant double-double threat.
He is the seventh member of NMH's 2022 class to finalize his recruitment and the fifth to commit to a division I school.
I’m proud to say that I’m 100% commited to Northwestern University! Thank you to all my family, friends and coaches who have helped me along the way. I would also like to thank every coach who spent their time and effort recruiting me. Ready for this next chapter! Go Cats! pic.twitter.com/mcKKmJ19PW

Inside-out big with a ton of sheer force in his game. Deserves a lot of credit for changing his body and taking his game to new levels within the last year. pic.twitter.com/sGxo2nYigD
