HM Prep Classic - Day 1 Recap

The Hoop Mountain Prep Classic tipped off at St Andrew's Friday with 4 highly competitive games. Coaches from the Big East, ACC, America East, CAA, Big Ten, Ivy League,  and Atlantic 10 were in attendance to watch the action.

Here's a look at who impressed:

Jaylen Brantley, Notre Dame Prep: Brantley proved again why he is one of the elite shooters in the region, dropping 19 of his game high 28 points in the first half.   

Aaron Calixte, Lee Academy: The crafty point guard showed tremendous quickness in transition as well as a consistent stroke from behind the three point line while also setting up his teammates for easy buckets throughout the game.  

Daquan Simpson, Lawrence Academy: The 6'7" hybrid forward scored 28 points with a barrage of transition three pointers, mid range jump shots and finishing moves in the paint.

Jalen Myrie, Lawrence Academy: Myrie was able to control the flow of the game on the offensive end. He chipped in 16 points and added 7 assists.

Kaleb Joseph, Cushing Academy:  The super athletic guard stole the show in the first half against Marianapolis with an array of acrobatic dunks and  impressive passes. Joseph demonstrated why he is being recruited at the highest level by dropping 26 points for the game.

Andrew Chrabascz, Cushing Academy: The Butler commit patrolled the paint on both ends of the floor and dominated the glass in this game pulling down 15 rebounds.

Jalen Adams, Cushing Academy: The high flying wing finished a number of plays above the rim. He also did a great job on the defensive end by getting in the passing lane constantly.

Steve Edmonds, Marianapolis Prep: The jitter bug point guard scored 19 second half points connecting on 5 three pointers.

Kamall Richards, South Kent: He demonstrated a versatile offensive repertoire pouring in 25 points on series of pull-up jumpers, floaters and finishes above the rim.

The Hoop Mountain Prep Classic will return to St. Andrew's School on Saturday.  Here's a look at the schedule:
