Hicks is D1 Bound
New Hampton School and Expressions Elite guard Kyle Hicks announced his commitment over the weekend to Tarleton State. They are a D1 school in Texas that competes in the Western Athletic Conference.
Hicks came to New Hampton in 2019 after attending the Fessenden School for his freshman year. At Fessenden, he was a captain and led them to an undefeated season while being the top scorer.
Hicks was a key fixture over the course of his career at New Hampton. He scored 10 points to help them win the 2020 NEPSAC Class AAA Title, along with being a 2022 All-NEPSAC Class AAA Honorable Mention selection. He competed on the Nike EYBL circuit with Expressions Elite.
“Kyle has been a student of the game over the course of his last three years at New Hampton,” said New Hampton head coach Andrew Gale. “While working on evolving his game, he’s improved significantly as a defender and shot-maker. In our biggest moments this season, the ball found Kyle’s hands and he made big plays for us.”
“It’s in his DNA to be in those situations. Great competitor. I know that Kyle is prepared for the next level and think he’s going to have a great college career. He has grown so much and I know he has a whole other level that he hasn’t reached yet.”
Hicks becomes the second member of New Hampton’s 2022 class to commit to a division I school.
