Heron, Mitchell taking part in Elite 24
Donovan Mitchell and Mustapha Heron are among the 24 players from around the country in New York this weekend to take part in the Under Armour Elite 24 game, arguably the most exclusive event of the summer.
The local New England products join the likes of Ivan Rabb, Malik newman, Thon Maker, Josh Jackson, Harry Giles, and other top national stars.
Players arrived in New York City on Wednesday and went through two days of practices, a charity project in Harlem, and visit to the 9/11 Memorial before Friday night’s three-point and dunk contests which were aired live on ESPN3 and will re-air on ESPNU Saturday at noon.
The game itself takes place Saturday night at 7pm live on ESPNU. The setting is perhaps unlike any other in grassroots basketball history as a court was literally built from scratch on a pier in Brooklyn. The outdoor court overlooks the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, and tip of Manhattan.
