Hazelton Camp Returns this Week
The 10th Annual Scott Hazelton Basketball School begins Monday.
Each and every August since 2007 the New England Recruiting Report has made the trip to Andover, Massachusetts for the annual Scott Hazelton Basketball School directed by the former McDonald's All-American (2000).
This year will be no different as the camp will be held from August 8th – 11th at the Greater Lawrence Technical School in Andover. The New England Recruiting Report will once again be front and center on Thursday morning as we return to the place where we first saw the likes of Noah Vonleh (Portland Trailblazers), Pat Connaughton (Portland Trailblazers), Wenyen Gabriel (Kentucky), Evan Smotrycz (Maryland), Carson Desrosiers (Providence) and numerous others.
Other Hazelton Camp alums include the likes of Luis Montero (Portland Trailblazers), Jalen Adams (UConn), Josh Sharma (Stanford), Zach Auguste (Notre Dame), Cedric Kuakumensah (Brown), Chris Baldwin (UMass), Saul Phiri (LaSalle), Goodluck Okonoboh (UNLV), Kaleb Joseph (Creighton), Mike Auger (Penn), Ryan Canty (Fordham), Scott King (Fairfield), Alec Brennan (Princeton), Sammy Mojica (Drexell), Jacquil Taylor (Purdue), Pat Benzan (Holy Cross), David Watkins (UNH), Curtis Cobb (Fairfield), Marcel Pettway (Bryant), Matt Cimino (American), Adrian Oliveira (Southern NH), John Powell (Bloomfield), Ryan Hartung (St. Anselm), Tevin Falzon (Sacred Heart), Matt Leblanc (Princeton), Mark Gasperini (American), Colin Richey (St. Mike's), Steve Haladyna (Tufts), Eric Gendron (Trinity) & Joe Mussachia (Amherst).
This year's event is expected to attract a combination of old and new, as camp alums will return to the court (as was the case last year when Zach Auguste, Evan Smotrycz, Jalen Adams, Kaleb Joseph and Hazelton went up and down against each other) while welcoming in a new era of campers which is expected to include some of the top young prospects in New England.
