Greater Boston All-Star Game Set for March 22nd
Basketball fans around Boston will be in for a special treat on Saturday, March 22nd as two all-star games will be played at Harvard University’s Lavietes Pavilion featuring the city area’s best talent.
The night will begin with the senior game at 6:30. Commitments have already come in from some of the class of ‘08’s best players including: Stevie Mejia (Lawrence Academy, Hyde Park); Jake O’Brien (Boston College HS); Jamal Turner (Tilton School, Roxbury); Andrew Van Nest (Northfield Mount Hermon, Weston); Tim McKinney (Boston College HS); Ryan O’Connell (St. John’s Prep); Romeo Diaz (Methuen HS); Adrian Gonzalez (Central Catholic HS); David Riley (Charlestown HS); Robert Wesley Jr. (Cambridge R&L HS); Uche Egesionu (Trinity Catholic HS); David Rufful (Northfield Mount Hermon); Tyler Patch (Seekonk HS); and Andrew Yanulis (Northfield Mount Hermon, Dorchester).
The junior game will begin at 8pm and will feature players from one of Massachusetts’ best classes in history, the class of 2009, as well as a few top prospects from the class of 2010. Players who have already committed to participate include: Alex Oriakhi (Tilton School, Lowell); Erik Murphy (St. Mark’s); Jamal Coombs (Tilton School, Dorchester); Evan Smotrycz (Reading HS); Nate Lubick (St. Mark’s); Phil Pressey (Cushing Academy); Gerald Coleman (West Roxbury HS); Austin Carroll (Worcester Academy); Tucker Halpern (Nobles); Kyle Casey (Brimmer & May); Mike Marra (Northfield Mount Hermon); Ben Crenca (Worcester Academy); Carson Desrosiers (Central Catholic HS); Malik Smith (Notre Dame Prep, Jamaica Plains); Hanell Velez (Woburn Memorial HS); Darryl Cato-Bishop (Lawrence Academy, Dorchester); Greg Jacques (St. Sebastian’s); Dave Johnson (St. Mark’s); Kyle Stockmal (Watertown HS); Cory Stockmal (Watertown HS); Billy Marsden (Central Catholic HS); and Shabazz Napier (Charlestown HS). Nadir Tharpe and Dartaye Ruffin have also been extended invitations.
