Gittens Makes the Call
Putnam Science Academy post-graduate guard Dashon Gitten announced a verbal commitment to Florida International University on Friday.
The 6-foot-3 guard from Hartford, Connecticut began his career at Weaver High School before transferring to Woodstock Academy, where he received his degree last year.
He has played his grassroots basketball with NE6 for the last two years, including most recently in the UAA.
Gittens has a wealth of versatile tools and significant upside. He has good size, explosiveness off the dribble, the ability to attack both sides, lift at the rim, all the tools to blossom into a high-level defender, and the naturally soft touch to develop as a shooter.
He becomes the second PSA product to commit to FIU in the last two years, following Mohamed Sanogo, and also the second member of PSA's 2022 class to come off the board this week following Barry Evans' commitment to St. Bonaventure.
