Gittens Earns Scholarship
Two weeks ago, Master's School guard Donte Gittens was the buzz of the Northeast Hoops Festival, standing out as one of the best available players in New England's class of 2013 and leading Connecticut Select all the way to the finals of the u17 division.
On Friday, his recruitment came to an end as he announced his twitter to Franklin Pierce via his twitter account:
"As of today , I am officially committed to Franklin Pierce University #RavenNation" he tweeted early Friday afternoon.
The six-foot-three guard gives Franklin Pierce a long and talented playmaker who still has his best basketball still in front of him.
He has undeniable playmaking ability in the open court and is also poised to be an outstanding defender at the next level due to his length and quickness.
Gittens will be joining a Franklin Pierce team that went 24-9 last season while advancing to the Elite 8 of the NCAA division II tournament. Next season, he'll be expected to make an immediate contribution and help account for the loss of graduating senior Eric Jean-Guillaume.
