Fairfield Adds Guard
Fairfield University picked up their fifth commitment in the class of 2012 on Monday from Justin Jenkins, a six-foot-two guard from Wings Academy in New York. The story was first reported by the New York Post.
Jenkins is a quick and skilled combo-guard coming off a huge season for Wings Academy that saw him see recruitment from a variety of MAAC schools in addition to Florida Atlantic, which he visited last week.
He becomes the fifth player, and first true guard, to commit to Fairfield joining six-foot-ten skilled big man Josip Mikulic, six-foot-seven power forward Amadou Sidibe, six-foot-six power forward Coleman Johnson, and six-foot-five swingman Marcus Gilbert.
Jenkins has a close relationship with Sidibe and told the Post he was also swayed by the fact that head coach Sydney Johnson spent time recruiting him personally.
