Evaluation Period Starts Friday

Less than five days after the college basketball season came to an end, the evaluation begins on Friday night, meaning college coaches will be permitted to be out watching grassroots style events that have been certified by the NCAA.

The three major shoe companies will dominate the national landscape this weekend with Nike's EYBL tipping off in Virginia, the Adidas Gauntlet circuit beginning in Dallas and the Under Armour Association in New Orleans.

New England will be represented at two of the three as BABC and Expressions will both travel with their u15, u16 and u17 teams to Virginia while the Mass Rivals and New England Playaz will bring all of their teams to Dallas.

The majority of New England's other teams attending a "live" event will either be at BasketBull's New England Championships in Connecticut or the Hoop Group Spring Jam Fest.

The BasketBull event includes Stamford Peace, BV Chaos, MB Nation. High Rise Elite, Boston Warriors, Mass Premier, Middlesex Magic, USAD, MBR, Lone Wolf and Connecticut Select among others while Metro Boston, DC Blue Devils and CBC are among the teams in Pennsylvania.

Also in New England this weekend is a junior elite tournament of epic proportions as HoopRootz and Zero Gravity combine to host the Gold Rush in Massachusetts.
