Evaluation Period Returns

The evaluation period returns Friday night at 6pm meaning college coaches are out for the last of their second weekends on the spring AAU circuit.

The three major sneaker companies are all holding their own collective events within a 200 mile radius of each other as the Adidas Gauntlet is in Indianapolis this weekend, the Nike EYBL in Lexington and the Under Armour Association in nearby Louisville.

The Mass Rivals and New England Playaz are both in Indianapolis hoping to earn a birth in the Gauntlet Finale, scheduled for the first three days of the July evaluation period. The Rivals open on Friday night while the Playaz are in action first thing Saturday morning with a possible match-up with NY Rens on tap for later in the day if they both win their opening round match-ups. The Rivals u15 and u16 squads are also in action in Indianapolis as are the Playaz' u16 squad.

BABC and Expressions are both in Lexington and set to tip-off with their first game Saturday morning as neither is in action Friday night. They'll have common oponents on Saturday in Seattle Rotary and NW Xpress, both of whom are from the west coast.

Down the road in Louisville, the Spring Takeover is hosting many of Nike's top u16 teams including Expressions, who open with Kentucky Travelers on Friday night and are set to plays Houston Hoops first thing Saturday morning.

Outside of the sneaker sponsored weekend events, the Hoop Group is hosting a variety of top teams this weekend for the Pittsburgh Jam Fest. Local New England programs in action include USAD, Lone Wolf Athletics, Stamford Peace, High Rise Elite, DC Blue Devils and Middlesex Magic.

In New England, BasketBull is hosting the Northeast Live Invitational in Springfield which features the likes of CBC, MBR, Metro Boston, MB Nation and others.
