Elite 75 College Showcase Recap pt. 7
Following the Elite 75 at Clark, we will be taking a look at each of the showcase teams and highlighting what they do well. Here's a look at one of the squads.
Harry Geng (St. Johnsbury, VT) uses his quick first step to advance the ball in transition. He shows high basketball IQ by hitting teammates up the floor and initiating offenses as well as finishing strong inside. Shows athletic finishes on fast breaks, as well as stamina and energy.
Tyler Bergmans (South Burlington HS, VT) rotates and gets his hands in passing lanes all game defensively. He runs hard in transition, leading to easier baskets. He is the type of player to do the dirty work, hustling the entire game.
Damani Williams (Jeremiah E. Burke HS, MA) shows grit defensively and a tight handle. He excels in transition situations and plays hard on both ends of the floor all game long. Leader on the floor calling out screens, and picking up plus communicating with his teammates.
Sam Parris (Winooski HS, VT) consistently makes the extra pass and creates for his teammates. He also fills lanes and makes hard cuts offensively for baskets. He knows his role and executes efficiently.
Akbar Allah (MacDuffie, MA) is a strong athletic guard who is explosive in the open floor. Gets downhill very fast weaving through traffic to create for himself and others. Has springs to finish powerfully above the rim. He excels off ball screens and shows impressive shooting from multiple levels.
Asiatic Allah (MacDuffie, MA) has a tight handle and attacks gaps well. Takes punches offensively forcing the defense to collapse frequently. High motor guard that gets where he wants on the floor using his speed with the ball.
Camden Fleming (Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA) shows a level of versatility that comes in handy in a lot of different ways. He displays a high basketball IQ and always hustles at both ends of the floor. Good touch around the post, uses his body to get the looks he wants near the basket.
Cedric Rodriguez (Burlington HS, MA) stays in the lane all game getting deflections and steals, while also throwing great outlet passes to start fast breaks. He rebounds hard and fills spots offensively, often creating opportunities for baskets.
John Brigham (Dexter Southfield, MA) is a powerful big who uses his frame to gain rebounding and post position. He sets aggressive screens and rolls hard. He loves to play inside and has a soft touch. He is also a threat from deep, being very effective off the pop from long range.
