Elite 75 College Showcase Recap pt. 4

Najimi George (Kolbe Cathedral, CT) is an explosive athlete with a great build and good size. He moves very well without the ball and is capable of knocking down the open shot. On top of that, Najimi showcases his athleticism on the offensive end and finishes above the rim with impressive jumping ability and creativity. The acrobatic finisher’s speed is also on display as he capitalizes on opportunities in transition. He also shows flashes of high-level playmaking off of help rotations. Strong defender who locks in on his assignment contesting shots and occasionally making highlight-reel blocks. 

 

Marquise Owens (Kolbe Cathedral, CT) has very quick hands on defense, getting deflections with ease and disrupting the ball handle well. On the offensive end, he uses quick bursts of speed, finishing over and around taller defenders and creating shots for his teammates. He also makes unselfish plays leading to open threes. He’s a heady on-ball defender with a solid handle. He’s good at slashing to the rim and makes the right passes.

 

Andrew Cerullo (Roxbury Latin, MA) is a very good passer and playmaker, especially off the ball screen and when he gets going downhill. On top of that, he has a very quick jumpshot and is capable of shooting the pull-up and knocking down threes. He is a high-IQ guard who hits pull-ups and looks for teammates. Solid on-ball defender through the pick and roll. Uses crafty finishes and floaters to finish over bigs. 

 

Brandon Fowler (Trumbull HS, CT) has a very nice looking jumpshot and is able to shoot the ball at a high percentage. Clean release of the ball making him a potential threat from deep. The point guard also plays very smart, consistently making the right decisions and limiting turnovers.

 

Lenny Tangishaka (Thayer Academy, MA) is a 3-and-D wing with a great shooting base. He is a very athletic player and shows it on both sides of the ball. Lenny is a great defender, but also attacks the basket well when he gets going downhill. Frequently makes the extra pass along the perimeter, allowing for offensive flow. Shows flashes of crafty finishes with impressive hang time for layups. 

 

Earl Pemberton Jr. (Methuen HS, MA) is an aggressive player and a capable shooter. Pemberton does a good job of scoring at all three levels, as he is capable of knocking down threes and pull-ups, as well as getting all the way to the basket. High motor player that is capable of forcing turnovers on the defensive end.

 

Anthony Zingarella (Marianapolis Prep, CT) uses his length and size at the guard position to defend and crowd passing lanes. Zingarella is aggressive in transition and is able to get all the way to the basket and finish through contact and traffic.

 

Andrew Alekseyenko (Rivers School, MA) is a very skilled big man that can really do it all. At 6’7, the strong and athletic forward is a good passer, with the ability to push the ball himself after a rebound and make plays for his teammates. Has great touch around the rim and can step outside and knockdown jump shots. On the defensive end, he has a good knack for rebounding and can use his size to alter shots. Shows a great feel for the game with perimeter spacing and use as a screener. He shoots well off the pop and finishes strong at the basket.  He is powerful off the triple threat with his jabs and advanced footwork. 

 

Sidney Hall (Marianapolis Prep, CT) is a good two way player, capable of defending on-ball and making plays for others on the offensive side. Hall also has good touch in the paint and around the rim, and can finish in different ways around the basket.


Elijah Lewis (Stratford HS, CT) is a good shooter with a quick release. The combo guard executes catch-and-shoots from three and can create for his teammates as a willing passer. He moves without the ball to create space and find openings. Has a strong finishing package in the lane when he attacks closeouts.
