Drexel Gets a Good One in Bah
Mohamed Bah made a verbal commitment to Drexel on Wednesday night, giving the Dragons a steal of a big man before higher level schools realized just what they were missing out on.
Bah is a native of Bamako, Mali and arrived at Lee Academy last year as a junior. He ran with the New England Playaz, later East Coast Elite Mass, on the spring and summer AAU circuits while picking up a steady dose of mid-major recruitment.
This fall Bah has taken official visits to Towson, Drexel, and Fairfield.
While Bah was impressive this summer – rebounding the ball in high volume and showing some evolving offensive tools – he looked far better this fall, showing the type of explosiveness around the rim that could have easily pushed his recruitment to much higher levels this summer.
The difference was immediately evident for the programs who made the long trip north to Lee, Maine and with so many high-major programs still looking for other options in the frontcourt, it seemed very likely that Bah’s recruitment was bound to take a jump with the coming prep season.
Instead, the big man will now be heading to Philadelphia where he’ll star for head coach Bruiser Flint at a level where he is capable of having an immediate and long-term impact.
