Delaire to Stanford in 2018
One of the best prospects in New England is leaving the region a year earlier than planned.
Loomis Chaffee and NE6 forward Jaiden Delaire announced his commitment to Stanford and will enroll immediately this fall as a member of the class of 2018.
Incredibly, he becomes the fourth New England prep product to commit to the Cardinals in their incoming freshman class as he joins Milton Academy's Cormac Ryan, New Hampton School's Keenan Fitzmorris, and Brewster Academy's Lukas Kisunas.
Despite missing half of his final season of prep school basketball with injury, Delaire has come on rapidly within the last year and was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Connecticut last winter as well as first team all-New England in Class A of the NEPSAC.
He was one of the leading scorers at the recent Under Armour Challenge and saw recruitment from a wide range of high-majors, especially once word leaked that he was exploring an immediate jump to college in the class of 2018.
A 6-foot-8 forward with a 7-foot-2 wingspan and an emerging skill set, Delaire is still far from a finished product but clearly has his best basketball still in front of him as he has great touch, developing range, and the potential to score at all three levels.
He should be expected to continue to emerge over the next few years and ultimately blossom into a very important piece for Stanford.
