Daniel Jacobsen Commits to Purdue

This past weekend, Brewster Academy 2024 7’3” giant Daniel Jacobsen committed to the Boilermakers of Purdue University.

He also received offers from the likes of New Mexico State, Tulsa, New Mexico, Xavier, Illinois, Minnesota, Boise State, Purdue, Wisconsin, Creighton, Clemson, Providence, and Georgetown.

Jacobsen averaged 6 points and 6 rebounds per game during his sophomore season at La Cueva High School in his home state of New Mexico. This was the first year he really hopped onto a lot of radars.

The following summer, Jacobsen transferred to Legacy Early College in South Carolina. This allowed him to gain more exposure, competing in the elite NIBC league.

Coincidentally, he announced the following summer that he would be transferring to Brewster Academy, an NIBC competitor, for this upcoming season.

Around the same time, Jacobsen averaged 8 points and 5 rebounds on the Nike EYBL Circuit competing with JL3 Elite from Houston, also shooting 47% from the field and 49% from behind the 3-point line and earning standout recognition at Session II.

Though the team finished with an overall record of 8-8, Jacobsen was a standout at the Peach Jam, during which he averaged 11 points and 6 rebounds in under 19 minutes per game, also shooting 51% from the field.

It will be exciting to watch Jacobsen compete for Brewster Academy this upcoming season, before he heads to Purdue to compete in the Big 10 Conference for the next chapter of his career.
