E.J. Dambreville 2018

Woodstock Academy post-graduate and Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School alum E.J. Dambreville announced his commitment to Florida Southern University on Sunday night.

Dambreville also ran with BABC South on the travel circuit this past spring and summer, continuing to star under Doug Alves, who was the head coach at both BRHS as well as BABC South.

Dambreville had a strong high school career at Bridgewater-Raynham and was named All-Scholastic by the Boston Herald following his senior season, but really only began to capture increasing scholarship level interest this past summer. He made a huge impression at the Elite 75 College Showcase in June, where he was arguably the biggest breakout performer in the field, showing both his high level athleticism and huge hands.

Florida Southern became the first school to offer him a scholarship just a couple of weeks later while he went on to earn other D2 offers and D1 interest in subsequent weeks and months.

Since arriving at Woodstock Academy, he's continued to utilize his physical tools and made a nice adjustment to unprecedent levels of competition over the last two months. In fact, he went for 27 points in a win for the program's Blue team just prior to announcing his commitment.

"I am extremely happy for E.J. to finalize his commitment to Florida Southern College," said Woodstock Blue head coach Nick Defeo. "He has worked tirelessly to improve his game, his body, and make a significant jump on an already qualifying SAT score since his arrival at Woodstock Academy. His leadership and character have been vital to our team's early success and these attributes will help him flourish at the scholarship level."

Florida Southern is a division II school coached by former Post and Southern Connecticut head coach Mike Donnelly. They have a proud basketball tradition including two NCAA national championships, 10 NCAA regional titles, and 23 SSC Tournament Championships.
