CT Open Gym This Friday!
The Connecticut Open Gym event takes place in just two days in Berlin CT! As mentioned yesterday, space for this event is limited, and only a few spots remain as we approach the day.
CBS Sports Director of Basketball Scouting, Adam Finkelstein, will be in the house for the event as well as a coaching staff consisting of confirmed schools in Nichols, Albertus Magnus, Post, Western New England, University of Saint Joseph, Wentworth and more.
The event is designed for anyone, regardless of public school or prep school, who is looking to get college exposure and build up their name heading into their respective winter season.
If that is you, or a prospect you know, the registration link and details are available below!
Register today, October 24th, at Vale CO-OP Berlin CT - 510 Four Rod Rd, Berlin CT
Check-in for the event will take place between 5:15-6pm on the night of the event.
Since 2006, the New England Recruiting Report has been a foundational figure in the Northeast, helping increase college exposure for potential prospects through our well-viewed channels on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and our website, which offers one of the largest freely-accessible prospect databases on the internet.
All high school age groups are welcome to participate as we aim to bolster the talent that walks into the gym through direct college exposure and widespread publicity across the NERR platform.
Just last year, we held an open gym event around the same time in October that saw a number of players make a name for themselves. The class of 2025 had some notable names that participated with Wilkin Paulino (UAlbany, D1), Terence Thompson (Caldwell, D2), Courage Agbekpornu (LeMoyne Owen, D2), Unai Fernandez (Chestnut Hill, D2) all accepting scholarship opportunities.
The D3 ranks were highly represented as well, Calvin Godbolt (Framingham State), Zane Brewer (Wentworth), Ben Miller (Hartford), Dayn Campbell (Hartford), Tristan Rodriguez (Gordon), Danny Adams (Emmanuel), Kieran Webb (Widener), Hilary Iyare (Bridgewater State), Avery Mickens (Western New England), Sincere Monroe (Curry), Asher Abeles-Tierney (Puget Sound), Jonathan Ramos (Johnson & Wales), Nolan Ryczek (Westfield State), and more.
The younger classes were well represented at the event too with Ethan Griffin recently committing to Alcorn State, Jack Louridas committing to Yale in the Spring, Jakub Lomicka putting himself firmly on the Division 1 radar, Stryckland Whittley-Ligon putting himself on the High Academic D3 priority list, and Anthony Ferola committing to Colby-Sawyer.
Public school players such as Sam Mayfield, Kehari Walker, Ryan Bernard, Foster Wilinski, Gabe Tesler, Mitchell Carey, Reece MacDonald, Christian Chartier (now at Phillps Exeter), Allen Miranda, Isaiah Reis, Gabe Jackson, Quinn Stockman, Dominic Taylor, Eddie Fiske Jr, Sawyer Pow, Zeke Williams (now at Deerfield), Nathan Gunn, Colby Gunn, and more putting themselves on the map as names to know in their respective classes.
