Cross is a Cane
BABC and incoming Brewster Academy forward Matt Cross announced his verbal commitment to Miami on Tuesday night.
Cross wrapped up his final official visit this past weekend after traveling to Butler, Florida, South Carolina, Indiana, Texas A&M and Miami in recent weeks and months.
"Miami was a great fit for me and there was connections with the people around me like my AAU coach Leo Papile whose word means a lot to me and the culture and environment I think can help build my game and as a person and help get to be a possible pro one day." Cross said.
He took to his twitter account to announce his decision.

The Massachusetts native, who spent last season at Woodstock Academy, put up huge numbers during the recent EYBL season with 23.3 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, which put him among the top ten in the league in both scoring and rebounding.
While both his statistical production and individual offense have gone to new levels within the last year, Cross' trademark quality is his toughness.
He came up the ranks as a two-sport star who also stood out on the gridiron and he has always brought a similar approach with him to the hardwood. He plays the game with a chip on his shoulder, thrives on contact, and plays bigger than he is inside the paint.
Cross follows in the footsteps of former BABC star Bruce Brown who spent two years at Miami before being drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 2018.
Below are some of Cross' highlights from this spring care of Courtside Films.
