Crawford Makes Pick
Connecticut native and St. Thomas More swingman E.J. Crawford made a verbal commitment to Iona on Tuesday.
Now in his second season with the Chancellors, Crawford began his career at Simsbury High School and proven his ability to score the basketball at every step along the way.
The Gaels offered last week and hosted Crawford for an unofficial visit over the weekend.
He took to his twitter account to announce his commitment last night.

Iona has recruited both St. Thomas More and USAD in recent years with A.J. English and Schadrac Casimir respectively. Iona was the only division I school to offer English a scholarship and he's blossomed into one of the best players in the MAAC. Casimir was similarly under-recruited out of South Kent but went on to win MAAC Rookie of the Year last year.
Crawford projects as a similarly good fit in Iona's trademark up-tempo system. He's an outstanding scorer of the basketball who is a true three-range threat. He owns a great mid-range game, has become a very consistent three-point threat and plays in straight lines off the dribble to both get to the rim and the free-throw line.
He joins current STM post-graduate forward Kai Mitchell to become the second Chancellor to join Iona's 2016 recruiting class.
