Commitment Catch-Up pt. V

During these busy past couple of months, several local prospects announced their commitments to play college basketball for the next stage of their careers…

Bridgton Academy 6’5” wing Anthony Chinn recently announced his commitment to Post University for the next chapter of his career. He had some big moments for Bridgton throughout this past season, earning a spot in the top ten of the Maine 2024 rankings. It will be exciting to follow along as he competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference at the Division II level.

Recently, Patrick Mulholland of Natick High School/Middlesex Magic announced his commitment to St. Lawrence in the Liberty League (D3). Our scouts noted his high IQ and lights-out shooting at the Elite 75 College Showcase last summer. He helped bring two times more wins than losses to Natick this past season.

Millbrook School/Rens United 6’3” guard Mark Ostad recently shared his commitment to George Washington as a preferred walk-on. This past year, he played a major role in bringing Millbrook to their first NEPSAC Championship appearance in school history, lighting it up from long range throughout the season and earning an All-WNEP Honorable Mention. It will be fun to see him take his talents to the Atlantic 10 Conference to play at the Division I level.

Recently, 6’4” wing/forward Hansy Jacques of Franklin High School/RI Rivals shared his commitment to Emmanuel College for the next stage of his career. He played a huge role in helping lead Franklin to a 25-2 overall record this past season, also making an MIAA D1 State Championship appearance. It comes as no surprise that we’ll be seeing him compete at the college level.

Kolbe Cathedral/DTX 6’4” combo guard Najimi George recently announced his commitment to New Haven to continue his career at the Division II level in the Northeast 10 Conference. Our scouts noted his athleticism at the Elite 75 College Showcase last summer, on the offensive end with acrobatic finishes, and on the other end with lockdown on-the-ball defense.

Recently, 6’4” guard/wing Sean Perri of Roxbury Latin/Middlesex Magic announced his commitment to Wheaton College to compete in the NEWMAC at the Division III level. His talents were put on display at the Elite 75 College Showcase last summer, lighting it up from three on the offensive end, showing versatility on the defensive end, and staying vocal on both ends.

Bridgton/B2L 6’9” big Will Davis recently shared that he would spend the next chapter of his career competing in the elite NESCAC with Trinity College. Ranked 2nd in the state of Maine’s class of 2024 rankings, he was a dominant piece of Bridgton’s successful season this past year. He showed a plethora of moves at the Elite 75 College Showcase last summer, as well as the ability to play the perimeter on both ends of the floor, knocking down threes and locking down guards on the ball.

This past weekend, Vermont Academy/Crown Basketball 6’0” point guard Jayden Watkins shared his commitment to SUNY-Oswego for the next chapter of his career. A top-10 recruit out of Vermont, Watkins was noted as a standout at the Super 16 Showcase this past summer with Crown, showing elite court vision and finishing through contact on drives to the basket.

Just recently, 6’5” wing Mason Blondeau of St. Paul’s/NE Storm announced his commitment to Haverford College to compete in the Centennial Conference at the Division III level. A top-20 recruit out of New Hampshire, Blondeau also proved himself one of the highest academic prospects, and it shows as he moves from one of the most elite prep schools in New England to one of the most selective colleges in the world.

6’5” forward/wing Christian Jeffers of Canterbury/NY Lightning recently shared his commitment to Bentley University to compete in the Northeast 10 Conference at the Division II level for the next stage of his career. Ranked in the top 40 in Connecticut’s class of 2024, Jeffers earned an All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention and All-WNEP recognition for his performance throughout this past season.
