Commitment Catch-Up pt. III

During these busy past couple of months, several local prospects announced their commitments to play college basketball at the Division III level for the next stage of their careers…  


 

Waltham HS/Middlesex Magic guard Stephan Barnes recently announced his commitment to Rivier University. He stood out at the Elite 75 College Showcase last summer, showing off his handles, court vision, and high motor. It will be exciting to track his progress in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference throughout the next chapter of his career.

 

Recently, Alec Mercer of Lee Academy/Pro Level Titans shared his commitment to Elmira College on social media. He was one of the major contributors for Lee Academy throughout the year, averaging 19 points just recently at the Phenom Hoops PG Nationals. It will be fun to track his career with Elmira in the Empire 8 Conference at the Division III level.

 

6’7” big Keaton Beck of Laconia High School in New Hampshire recently announced his commitment to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was a force all season long in the NHIAA, dominating the paint on both ends of the floor. It will be exciting to track his progress in the Liberty League at the Division III level. 

 

Recently, MacDuffie School/Mass Elite guard Cooper Galdenzi announced his commitment to Hartford for the next chapter of his career. Galdenzi is a sneaky athlete who has consistently knocked down shots all year long for MacDuffie, also winning a Bigfoot XL Circuit Championship with Mass Elite last summer. He stood out at the Elite 75 College Showcase as well, noted for his great motor, crafty handles, and his ability to score at all three levels. It will be fun to watch him compete at the college level.

 

Camden DiChiara of Lincoln High School/BCRI recently shared his commitment to UMass-Dartmouth to begin his college career. Averaging 22 points per game, as well as roughly 5 rebounds and 2 assists, he played a major role in leading Lincoln to a RIIL Division 2 State Championship with an overall record of 22-0. It will be exciting to see how his dominance progresses at the Division III level in the MASCAC.

 

Eli Roy of Wells High School recently announced his commitment to St. Joe’s (Maine) to continue his basketball career. He stood out at the Elite 75 College Showcase last summer, noted for his pure work ethic and great communication on the floor, also showing a particular proficiency from midrange. It will be exciting to follow his career in the GNAC at the Division III level.

 

Recently, Master’s School (CT)/WeR1 (New England) 6’1” guard Jaydon Buckle announced his commitment to Worcester State for the next chapter of his career. Buckle was an elite scoring threat for Master’s all season long, consistently showing his ability to knock down pull-ups and finish through contact. It will be fun to watch him compete at the college level. 

 

Bedford High School/Middlesex Magic big guard Justice Buchanan recently announced his commitment to UMass-Dartmouth for the next chapter of his career. He stood out at the Elite 75 College Showcase last summer, capitalizing on opportunities on the offensive end while still protecting the ball. He also showed consistent long range shooting abilities and a high basketball IQ. It will be fun to track his progress as he competes at the Division III level in the MASCAC.
