Commitment Catch-Up

College placement has never been harder for high school basketball players hoping to take their game to the next level and accordingly, each player that is able to solidify their spot playing college basketball deserves recognition.

Our most recent commitment catch-up recaps some of the commitments we've seen over the course of the last six weeks.

All commitments were initially announced on the NERR social media platforms (@NERRhoops on both Twitter and Instagram).

New Hampton School post-grad wing Peter Lash is a skilled and fundamentally sound 6-foot-6 wing originally from North Carolina who pledged to Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Williston Northampton post-grad wing Tanner Thomas accepted a spot at Sacred Heart, where he'll play alongside his older brother Tyler. Tanner is a powerful and forward scorer capable of playing multiple positions.

Newton North and Mass Commanders guard Karim Belhouchet committed to Lasell University. Belhouchet is a skilled guard and big-time shot-maker with a natural release.

Kingswood-Oxford and Connecticut Elite guard Ben Merritt announced his career would continue at St. John Fisher. Merritt is a skilled and steady throwback point guard who understands how to run a team.

Windsor High School alum and Woodstock Academy post-grad Justice Ellison committed to Barton Community College. Ellison is a versatile perimeter player with terrific size, driving tools, and improved shooting range.

Wachusett and Mass Commanders guard Alex Momo is headed to Southern Maine Community College. A powerful and athletic guard with tons of playmaking ability, Momo is a scholarship caliber talent.

Belmont Hill and Middlesex Magic guard Casey Rockett pledged to Occidental a couple of weeks ago. Rockett is a former football player who brings a similar mentality with him to the hardwood.

Ryan and Tom Vassil will stay together to play at Quincy College. Both starred at Whitman-Hanson, while Tom is a late-blooming big man from the Team New England program who began this year at Springfield Commonwealth.

Quincy College also landed a commitment from Rockland and HST's Derek Williams, who has been a staple of the Hard Smart Together program in recent years.

Nashua South and New England Storm guard Cody Rocheleau is headed to Colby-Sawyer. Rocheleau is a high-IQ and multi-dimensional guard.

Western New England University landed an immediate impact player in Boston Latin School and ASA wing Jake Harrison. Harrison is a volume-scorer with an instinctive feel for the game who has put up big numbers both in high school and AAU.

Fellow ASA and Boston Latin School product, Ryan Donahue, came off the board to Keene State. Donahue is an ultra-crafty and instinctive playmaker who can create for himself and his teammates.

Capital Prep wing Jalen Gordon also committed to Keene State. He is long, strong, athletic, physical, and able to play and defend multiple positions.

NMH post-grad Cole Bott accepted a recruited walk-on spot at Texas. Bott is a skilled 6-foot-7 forward and division I caliber talent.

Vermont Academy and House We Built's Nate Gryczka is headed to Springfield College where he'll provide a physically strong shot-maker loaded with competitive intangibles.

Hotchkiss and Crown guard Aidan Rodgers is adding to the recent prep pipeline to Hobart. Rodgers is a gym rat and playmaker who has built up a powerful body in recent years.

Marianapolis Prep and Connecticut Elite guard Ehmil Johnson recently committed to Wheaton, adding to a deep class of college players from both programs.

Catholic Memorial and Team Sims guard Kyle Phillips is headed to Suffolk, where he'll bring a scoring guard who dictates pace and doesn't get sped up.
