Commisso Commits to Southeastern Louisiana
Newman School and Young & Reckless big man Dominic Commisso recently announced his commitment to Southeastern Louisiana, a D1 school in the Southland Conference.
Before coming to New England for a post-grad year, Commisso played at Hononegah Community HS in Rockton, IL. He had a standout senior season, averaging 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Commisso played his first and only season in New England during the 2022-23 season. He competed for a Newman squad in their first year of NEPSAC AAA competition. Commisso was one of the focal frontcourt pieces while showcasing his bounce and motor.
He played his AAU basketball for Young & Reckless based out of the Chicago area. They competed in the Hoop Group Showcase League. Commisso played a key role for a team that earned an HGSL championship.
"I enjoyed coaching Dom this year," said Newman head coach Jackson Johnson. "He is a worker and those are my type of guys. Dom really made strides in terms of his understanding of the game. He is a young kid and just scratching the surface of what he is capable of."
"I am excited to see his growth at SELA. SELA has improved every year in the Southland under Coach Keifer. He knows how to make guys better. They will make Dom better!"
Newman now has a pair of 2023 prospects who are committed to playing college basketball at the Division One level next season.
