Clarification Coming?
Chris McCullough found himself back in the national news this weekend after it was reported that he was interested in returning to his original class of 2013.
These reports are nothing new. In fact, McCullough has been making similar claims consistently since this fall. ESPN first reported the junior forward's interest in reclassifying at the time of his commitment to Syracuse.
McCullough, who is back in New York while on holiday break from Brewster Academy, is expected to meet with his family and coaches to discuss the possibility of reclassifying on Thursday. Regardless of what is decided, a move back to the class of 2013 would be full of academic challenges, as ESPN reported earlier this week.
McCullough is an incredibly talented young prospect who has continued to take his game to new levels this season at Brewster, after leading Salisbury to the 2014 NEPSAC Class A championship.
He is currently ranked 17th in the ESPN 60, although that is expected to rise following his recent performance at the National Prep Showcase in November, and 1st overall in New England's 2014 class.
McCullough and Brewster teammate Ron Patterson are currently committed to Syracuse in 2014 and 2013 respectively while former Brewster forward C.J. Fair is now in his junior season with the Orange.
