Chrabascz Taking Visits
Andrew Chrabascz was another of July’s big winners. The BABC forward played a critical role in BABC’s quest for their second consecutive national championship, emerging as one of the team’s most consistent scorers.
Not surprisingly, his recruitment picked up accordingly as his production only supplemented what coaches already knew of his talent and intangibles.
In the two weeks since July came to an end Chrabascz says he has heard from over 30 schools including Boston College, Syracuse, Seton Hall, and Temple while scoring scholarship offers from UMass, Vermont, Jacksonville, Florida Atlantic, and Delaware.
This weekend Chrabascz set off on four unofficial visits. He split Friday between Delaware and Temple and was set to visit Pennsylvania on Saturday and Lehigh on Sunday. Next week, he’s scheduled to take a much shorter trip to UMass.
“I’m just doing these four right now,” Chrabascz said in between visits on Friday, “and then I’ll do some local ones when I get home.”
While the Cushing Academy forward is getting an early start on his visits, he says that shouldn’t serve as any type of indication that his recruitment will come to an early end.
“I just want to enjoy the process and see where I’ll be comfortable,” he said.
As much of a star in the classroom as he is on the court, Chrabascz also talked about what he is ultimately hoping to find in a school.
“Just a place that fits me athletically and academically,” he said. “I don’t know if the location will end up bothering me but I know I want to have a good relationship with the coaches and the players.”
