Central Connecticut Scores Commitment
Central Connecticut scored what could end up to be a steal on Sunday night when Khalen Cumberlander committed to the Blue Devils. The six-foot-three guard held several other division I offers that ranged as high as the CAA and Atlantic 10 Conference.
Cumberlander is an athletic scorer on the perimeter who averaged over 18 points per game as a junior, and is expected to be well into the 20's this year as a senior according to Coolidge (DC) head coah Vaughn Jones.
"He's a very exciting player that plays both ends of the floor," Jones said. "He's very explosive in the open court and I think he will be a very exciting player for Central Connecticut State."
Cumberlander is the second player to commit to Central head coach Howie Dickenman in the class of 2012, joining six-foot-six forward Brandon Peel from Riverdale Baptist.
