CCSU Lands Reynolds

Throughout the winter there was a lot of talk about New York City native, and Williston-Northampton postgraduate Ashton Reynolds.
He was dubbed by many as one of the top postgrad's playing in the NEPSAC this season. With the burden to be great on his shoulders, as well as the fact that he was trying to get recruited to find a spot to move on to after the year, Reynolds lived up to the bill time and time again.
Over the course of the season, Reynolds and his 2025 running mates Ore Odutayo, Ricardo Nieves, and Preston Edmead came out ready to win basketball games.
Which they did, boasting an impressive 25-1 record at the end of the year; beating the 2024 Class A champions Phillips Exeter squad.
Being able to serve as an off-ball scoring threat next to Edmead this season, Reynolds applied a ton of pressure to the rim. Oftentimes when he steps onto the court, there aren't any other players who offer quite as much athleticism as he does. He can really get up above the rim to throw down highlight-reel dunks, but also brings impressive anticipation to defend the rim and alter shots around it.
One of the larger questions around Reynolds from college coaches was if he could shoot the ball. Well, at the HoopHall Prep Showcase in January, he helped dispel that notion knocking down four three's throughout the contest, including the game-winning dagger as the buzzer expired.
By April, Reynolds had went from zero scholarship offers to Bryant, Manhattan, Delaware State, Fairfield, and his ultimate choice, CCSU, entering the mix.
Prior to coming up to New England for a fifth-year, Reynolds was a standout at Transit Tech in Brooklyn New York.
At Transit Tech, Reynolds won a ton of games under Maine native Kenneth Hafford including the 2023 PSAL A championship in a 71-47 rout of Epic South. In 2022, Transit Tech had made the championship game as well but ultimately fell by two.
Despite losing a high school season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Reynolds finished as the all-time leading scorer in Transit Tech history.
Moving on in the near future to Connecticut, the Blue Devils are getting an elite athlete that contributes to winning, offers defensive versatility, and has continued to ascend throughout his career.
