CBC Wins Live in the AC
The Connecticut Basketball Club punctuated their comeback summer with a championship at Live in the A.C., knocking off a number of talented programs from the Mid-Atlantic region in the process.
Team Final Black, New Jersey Roadrunners and Jersey Shore Warriors all went down in their run to the finals, where they matched-up with Sports U, an Under Armour sponsored program from New Jersey.
Faced with a talented program that boasted superior size at virtually every position on the floor, CBC went to a small ball line-up that not only allowed them to utilize their speed and quickness but also space the floor to the max on the offensive end with multiple three-point shooters.
KeAndre Fair had a dominant performance, playing some of his best basketball and knocking down 5 of his 8 shots from behind the three-point line for a team high 24 points. Backcourt mate Thomas Jackson was impressive in his own rite, going 3-5 from behind the arc and finishing with 15 points.
CBC knocked down 13 threes in total, many of which stemmed from the drive-and-kick ability of Jaecee Martin who consistently got into the teeth of the defense and found open shooters throughout the game.
Rising junior Mike McGuirl, who has put together a breakout summer, finished with 12 points while Alex White and Chaylyn Martin finished with 11 and 8 respectively.
