Cassell to Maryland Back On
Notre Dame Prep guard Sam Cassell Jr. recommitted to the University of Maryland on Saturday night just prior to the Capital Classic All-Star Game.
Cassell had originally committed to Maryland back in March but decommitted only a few days later following apparent dissaproval from his father and Washington Wizards assistant coach Sam Cassell Sr.
After visiting South Florida and also considering Pittsburgh and Villanova, Cassell has rejoined a Maryland recruiting class that also includes center Shaquille Cleare (Houston/The Village School), small forward Jake Layman (Wrentham, Mass./King Philip), center Charles Mitchell (Marietta, Ga./Wheeler), guard Seth Allen (Fredericksburg, Va./Fredericksburg Christian), center Damonte Dodd (Centreville, Md./Queen Annes County), and Michigan transfer Evan Smotrycz.
