Cambio put up big numbers during his high school season, averaging over 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game while helping Central Catholic to their second consecutive D1 north title and earning All State honors from ESPN Boston in the process.
The six-foot-six forward played perhaps his best game of the year in the state finals, scoring a game high 27 points and almost leading Central Catholic to an upset win over undefeated powerhouse Putnam in the process.
He has had an equally successful AAU career with the BABC and was part of the team that won the 10th grade AAU National Championship in 2012 and advanced to the Final Four of the 2013 11th grade AAU Nationals.
At Cushing, he’ll join a Penguin program that has won back-to-back NEPSAC AA titles and again figures to be among the top contenders next season with Jalen Adams returning in the backcourt and Makai Ashton-Langford set to replace Syracuse bound point guard Kaleb Joseph. Cambio will join a pair of rising sophomore, Kimani Lawrence and Jarrod Simmons, to help anchor the frontline.
