Burton A10 Bound
Marianapolis Prep and Mass Rivals wing Tyler Burton announced his verbal commitment to the University of Richmond on Sunday afternoon.
Burton had previously trimmed his list to six schools coming out of the July recruiting period - Richmond, Siena, Quinnipiac, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, and Northeastern - and had taken visits to Quinnipiac and Richmond in recent weeks.
He took to his twitter account to confirm his decision Sunday, a week after returning from the Spider's campus.

Burton averaged 19.7 points and 10.8 rebounds during his junior season with Marianapolis and was named Player of the Year in Class B of the NEPSAC following the season.
He continued to ascend throughout the course of the summer with the Rivals and was at his best at the end of the month at the Prime Event in Orlando when he started to attract attention from schools even higher than the Atlantic 10.
In addition to their strong basketball tradition under head coach Chris Mooney, Richmond is also a prestigious academic school with a strong business program that appealled to Burton.
The 6-foot-6 wing impacts the game on both ends of the floor. He's a solid athlete whose best offense has typically come in the open floor but is increasing crafty in and around the paint when playing off the bounce. He's always maximized his length and played long on the defensive end of the floor and been a valuable rebounder from the wing spot capable of playing some small-ball four.
Burton follows Daniel Buie (Northwestern) to become the second Rivals product to commit this weekend.
Below are some of his junior year highlights.
