Brown Adds Forward
Brown University head coach Jesse Agel landed a commitment from Jon Schmidt earlier this week. Schmidt is a six-foot-seven forward from the Friends School in Maryland.
Schmidt averaged 24 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 assists this year and recovered from a torn hamstring that he suffered while running with Nike's Baltimore Elite AAU squad.
The injury prevented Schmidt from playing during the July live evaluation period and left him flying under the radar coming into the high school season.
Schmidt is a rugged forward and high volume rebounder who also has a high basketball I.Q. He drew interest from the likes of American, Lehigh, Davidson, Loyola and others before committing to Brown.
