Brewster’s Rhames D1 Bound
Brewster Academy point guard Freedom Rhames made a verbal commitment to Howard University on Monday, becoming the fourth member of the Bobcat's 2022 graduating class to commit to a division I school.
He took an official visit to Howard's campus two weeks ago before contemplating his final decision over the weekend.
Rhames is a California native who played his grassroots basketball with Dream Vision. He arrived at Brewster last year but opted to return for a post-graduate year in hopes of playing his way to the division I level.
"Freedom is a tough, versatile guard who has continued to improve his overall game during the last year," Brewster Academy head coach Jason Smith said. "He is a strong three-point shooter and has become one of our top perimeter defenders."
