Brantley Signs with Marshall

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Head coach Tom Herrion announced Friday that Jaylen Brantley has signed a national letter of intent to join the Marshall men's basketball team.

Brantley, a 5-foot-10-inch point guard from Springfield, Mass., played at Notre Dame Prep last season. ND Prep, located in Fitchburg, Mass., made it to the national semifinals and lost to eventual national champion Northfield Mount Hermon last season.

"Jaylen is a terrific addition to our basketball program," Herrion said. "He has played in very successful programs in high school and AAU. He is a talented player and quality individual who we welcome to our basketball family."

Brantley had a long and highly decorated AAU career with the BABC, winning AAU National Champions in both 2010 and 2011 as well as the 2011 Nike EYBL Championship.

He averaged 16 points and five assists per game at Notre Dame Prep while shooting 44 percent from three-point range and 85 percent from the free throw line.

Brantley is the fourth to sign this season joining Justin Edmonds, Cheikh Sane and Shawn Smith.
