Brendan Bouthillette 2015

Billerica High School (MA) and Mass Elite guard Brendan Bouthillette has committed to Salem State University where he will play for Coach Chris Harvey.

A standout in the very competitive Merrimack Valley league, Bouthillette averaged 15 points and 6 assists this season to help lead Billerica into the post-season.

A longtime member of the Mass Elite AAU program, initially joining the club in 2011 as an 8th grader, he turned in big performances at a variety of events last spring – including the Northeast Hoops Festival, NEAAU Super Regionals, and Massachusetts AAU state tournament – and was heavily recruited by a number of division III college programs as a result before deciding on Salem State.

"Brendan defines what it means to be a competitor" Mass Elite head coach and program director Eric Polli said.  "He doesn't back down from anyone. The word fear is not in his vocabulary.”

Bouthillette owns a college ready body and has an ability to play through, and absorb contact, beyond his years, but he’s also a capable threat from behind the three-point line, and so Polli expects him to earn immediate minutes for himself next season.

"Coach Harvey has added a real difference maker," Polli said. "Brendan is ready to contribute to a college roster right away and really make an impact.”
