Boston College HS Wins Crooms Fall League

Jake O' Brien scored a game high 16 points, and (Crooms League MVP) Tim McKinney added 13, as the Celtics held off a formidable Bucks squad to capture the Crooms League crown. The Bucks were led by Robert Walton and Cristian Onuoha who both contributed 12 points each in the loss.

Both squads battled through fatigue and gave the fans in attendance a hard fought battle down to the wire, playing each other to a standstill throughout the contest. Walton got the Bucks off to a hot start driving to the rack amongst the trees and attacking the Celtics’ big frontline. The Celtics held a slim 25-22 lead at intermission.

In the second frame neither team gave an inch as the teams continued to trade haymakers. Despite being outsized and outmanned down low the Bucks battled hard and left it all on the floor. Onuoha balled hard and used all of his 6-2 wiry athletic frame to attack the glass and make his presence felt amongst the trees of the Celtics front line. Onuoha led all players with 8 rebounds and collected 4 on the offensive end. With the game in the balance McKinney stepped up and showed his mettle by nailing a clutch 3 to put Celtics up 52-45 with a 1:30 remaining. In the final seconds O'Brien would throw down a two handed flush to cap an undefeated 11-0 run to the Crooms League title for Boston College High School.
