Bey Bound for Assumption
Assumption College landed their third commitment in the last week, and this one was a big one as Wilbraham & Monson senior Kamali Bey is the latest to commit to the Greyhounds.
Bey has had a long and decorated career, beginning at the Sabis International Charter School, where he first competed at the high school level as just a 7th grader. He scored his 1000th career point during his sophomore year and led Sabis to an MIAA state championship that same season.
Bey’s next move would be to Wilbraham & Monson Academy, but he’d have to wait an entire year before suiting up for the Titans after breaking his leg in the spring of 2010.
He returned to the floor last season as a junior and has been a key contributor for head coach Chris Sparks’ club since then.
On the AAU circuit, Bey spent the vast majority of his career playing with the Boston Amateur Basketball Club, where he proved his ability to score the basketball against the highest levels of competition.
This season, he continued to take his game to new levels, getting himself into the best shape of his career and diversifying his offensive attack, all while solidifying himself as one of the toughest match-ups in the region.
Bey is the third player to commit to Assumption in the last week, joining Cushing Academy forward Matt Mareno and Columbia transfer Chris Fitzgerald.
