Belade Headed to Seton Hill
Lee Academy and DTX Basketball wing Brian Belade announced his commitment last weekend to Seton Hill, a D2 school in Pennsylvania.
Belade began his high school career at Shelton HS. He had a very productive career, leading them in the 2019-20 season to 18 wins while averaging 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists per game.
Belade challenged himself against a higher level of competition during his next two years. He played his senior year at Fork Union Military Academy and post-grad year at Lee Academy.
On the AAU circuit with DTX Basketball, Belade was impressive during the first April live period. He played an integral role leading them to a 4-0 record at the ZGXL event in Boston, being named as a member on the All-Tournament team.
"Brian had the skills and size, just needed the confidence to make things happen,” said Lee Academy head coach Dan Haynes. "Midway through the year it clicked for him and elevated his entire game. He became an all around tough player, rather than just a shooter."
Belade is the third member of Lee Academy’s 2022 class to finalize their college plans, while being the second to commit to a scholarship level program.
