Becker Earns Scholarship
Fairfield Warde High School alum and New Hampton School post-graduate Matt Becker made a verbal commitment to Saint Anselm College over the weekend, accepting a full athletic scholarship from the division II school.
Becker, who played his grassroots basketball for Project Triple Threat, had a decorated high school career in the CIAC before proving himself at the highest level of prep competition in the country this year.
A big guard with unique floor vision and passing ability, Becker built-up his body during his post-graduate year and ultimateyl played his way into the starting line-up for the Huskies and proved to be a key part of their run to the NEPSAC AAA championship.
"This versatile guard was a warrior and a leader for the Huskies this year," NHS head coach Andrew Gale tweeted, "leaving his legacy with a championship."
Becker becomes the sixth member of NHS' 2020 class to finalize his college recruitment.
