Bassy Commits to URI
Sebastian Thomas is coming home.
The Rhode Island native committed to the University of Rhode Island Wednesday night after spending the last year away at the Hoosac School in New York.
A longtime product of the Rhode Island Elite grassroots program, Thomas began his career at Bishop Hendricken before joining the prep ranks, and it has been within the last year that he's seen his stock and recruitment ascend rapidly.
The southpaw is a true point guard who was able to bring his game to new levels when surrounded by other high-level players and prove an ability to make the game easier for them.
While he is eligible to join the Rams in his original 2021 class, he was previously planning to attend Springfield Commonwealth for a post-grad year. He is reportedly most likely to finish the summer on the grassroots circuit before determining if he'll head to Barrington right away or in the fall of 2002.
.@RhodyMBB just landed a commitment from local Rhode Island native Sebastian Thomas.
