Baldwin is Ivy Bound
Belmont Hill School and Middlesex Magic forward Josh Baldwin announced his commitment to Cornell University on Thursday afternoon.
He becomes the fourth member of the Magic's 2022 class to commit to a D1 school and the 6th player in the program to finalize his recruitment thus far.
Baldwin is a strong and athletic forward with a physical style inside of the 15-foot range. He averaged 11 pts and 7 rebounds in the month of July when the Magic went 13-2 and won both the ZGXL Prime Event Championship and Hoop Group Spooky Nook Jam Fest Championship.
"We are thrilled for Josh to be joining the Cornell program. Josh is one of the best defenders and athlete I have had the privilege to coach. He gets to the rim, has a terrific mid-range game, and consistently makes open threess. His combination of strength, toughness, and quickness makes him an amazingly versatile player on both ends of the court. He was a major key to our success this past spring and summer, and I believe he will make an immediate impact in the Ivy League."
Below are highlights from his recent grassroots campaign as well as his commitment announcement.
Thanks to Coach Crotty, Coach Cofield, and so many more. Thanks to my mom, dad, sisters and the rest of my family supporting me through every step. Thanks to my friends and Wayne for filming me. With that, I am committed to Cornell University! The journey begins! #GoBigRed ⚪️ pic.twitter.com/bdS2n4sbqP
